A milli! This is exactly what Lil’ Wayne received as a birthday gift from his play daddy, Baby. YES A MILLION BUCKS!!! *I sigh in disgust*. I have an idea Lil’ Weezy . . . How about you and all the other celebrities in the that can just give away a mil contribute that money to the bail out so us struggling folk won’t have to. Just a thought.
“A Woman Scorned” “Bust Your Windows” is the second single off of Jazmine Sullivan’s debut album, Fearless. II can dig the song. Although I’m not at that place in my life at this very moment (I’m more on this kick), I have to admit I have been there as most women have. Lucky for him, I’m way too flyy for shit like that.
Somebody is finally publicly acknowledging her relationship to Jigga man! In the November issue of Essence Magazine Beyonce speaks on her wedding to Jay-Z and her new music. I wonder if she took his last name . . . “Beyonce Carter“?
Here’s some snippets from the interview
On Maintaininng Privacy
“[Not speaking] controls your brand,” she continued. “It controls what you want to put out there and kind of forces people to talk about what you want them to talk about.”
But then Beyoncé lets it slip that it was a joint decision with her husband to keep quiet. “We decide everything,” she told the magazine. “My word is my word. What Jay and I have is real. It’s not about interviews or getting the right photo op. It’s real.“.
On Her Wedding to Jova
Beyoncé tells the magazine that the wedding was very small and intimate, because she’s not a “traditional” woman and having it be “her day” wasn’t something she needed. Being a star and walking the red carpet has diminished the need for that over the years. “It’s been my day so many days already,” she told the magazine.
She didn’t want an engagement ring because “people put too much emphasis on that. It’s just material, and it’s just silly to me,” she said.
On Having Jigga Babies
While she wouldn’t discuss how Hova proposed, or even if he proposed (”We’ve been together a long time. We always knew it would happen,” is all she would offer), Beyoncé did reveal this: They plan to have kids. Someday. And perhaps as soon as after she puts out this album. (Source)
How convenient she’s talking about her relationship with Mr. Sean Carter all of a sudden. She knows she’s becoming as irrelevant as Usher these days. So you know with the new album dropping soon, she had to get people talking about her again. Hell it’s working b/c I’m about to OD on all the Beyonce news I’m seeing everywhere.
Speaking of Beyonce . . . So I heard “If I Were A Boy” for the first time last night and not what I expected. It’s one of those songs that will have to grown on me. And why does she sound a little like Natasha Bedingfield.
Britney Spears brand new video will be premiering on 20/20. WTH!!! Now I really do want her to make an official comeback and I’m digging her latest song Womanizer. BUT I’m not too sure I would consider her video to be 20/20 newsworthy. But nonetheless look out for her video on Oct. 10th. SMDH
Earlier this week I reported that Beyonce’s new album may or may not have to be pushed back, well Beyonce is letting all y’all mofos who doubted her her fans know that her album is dropping November 18th no matter what you’ve heard. NOW WHAT BITCHES!
I have worked on this album for close to one year. I have taken the time so I can create my sound. Something that says who I am at this stage in my life. I have poured my heart and soul into it. It is my baby. It is the most time I have spent on any project since my first records as a member of Destiny’s Child when I was 15 years old. I have recorded over 70 songs and have created a sound that reveals all of me. I am in a different place right now and I wanted people to see the many sides of me. The music is upbeat for the dance, fun side and it is reflective, passionate and serious for the personal side. I have taken risks here. I am not afraid and my music will explain it all. There is no label or tag on my sound. It’s me and I am so excited to share it with the world on November 18.
“It was a big deal. I got a beautiful ring and I got him. I had no clue at all. We went to the beach during the day and he blindfolded me and he gave me a purple shovel, because purple’s my favourite colour… and I had to dig. I ended up digging through all this sand.
“When I found it, it was like a bunch of beautiful cards - one related to the other, and the last one said, ‘Look around, take the moment in, turn around and I have a gift for you’.” Jennifer showed off the ring on a tv show recently and called her to be husband “a beautiful guy” and boasted, “He’s an attorney, he went to Harvard Law School.”
She forgot to mention one thing so I’ll do it for her . . . “He’s an attorney, he went to Harvard Law School, and he was a contestant on I Love New York.” So Jenny you can stop talking about him as if we don’t already know who he is. I wonder how his mom feels about her b/c she was feeling New York too tough.
But all jokes aside…they do look like they are in love. So congrats to the two!
Images snagged off J. Hudson’s Myspace page and quote lifted from Necole Bitchie.
Obama is pleading with the Urban community to go out and vote. In a letter to Vibe readers he wrote:
In a letter to be published in the November issue, the Democratic presidential candidate is given a page to address the readers of the urban music monthly magazine. In it, Obama urges them to register to vote, saying, “We are at a defining moment in our history. I am running for president to take this country in a new direction. But I can’t do it alone. I need you,” the letter reads. “Whether it’s the first time, or the first time in a long time, I need you to register and vote on November 4.”
Now get registered and come November all who can should vote. You can even register to vote by mail so you can’t have the excuse of not being able to make to the polls. Now if you are worried that your vote might not get counted if you do vote by mail, well it will definitely not count if you don’t vote at all.
And since we are on the subject, check out this public service announcement under the hood . . .

Wash the car, I’m gonna walk the dog Take out the trash with nothing but your t-shirt on
I’m gonna press your shirt, gonna wrinkle mine’s up
In the kitchen going creazy, we don’t give a what.
At about the 2:53 mark Usher sings the above verse and for a split second I envisioned Usher taking out the trash with nothing but Tameka’s baby t-shirt on. I’m sure it’s supposed to mean SHE’LL take out the trash with nothing but HER t-shirt on. But I thought I’d share my slowness with you so you can envision Usher in a baby “T” and get grossed out and possibly puke in your mouth. No need to thank me. But forreal forreal I really thought he was taking this trading places thing waaay too far. LOL
